Le Petit Hôtel à Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Small but fabulous, this boutique hotel is comfortably located in an old building in the center of Saint-Remy-de-Provence.

Given initial size of the building and its outdoor area, our challenge was to use effectively each square meter of the house, while keeping the space comfortable for the guests. We’ve developed the planning, which organically comprises nine rooms, dining room, kitchen and bar.
Façade also has been changed. Before the renovation, the building has been covered by the plaster. We’ve removed it in order to release an old masonry.

In this project, we work closely with our client, a couple who runs the hotel and has been taking care of all the decoration. Together we’ve decided to partially keep floor tiles with an authentic pattern. This pattern inspired our team to search for a well-deserved extension. As the result, we’ve recreated this mood and its exclusivity in other parts of the building with the Fornace Brioni – an Italian handmade terracotta tiles with a 100-years history.

We’ve also developed planning for the small garden in the inner yard. All the events there are happening around the swimming pool, which design has been developed by the client.

Thanks to the fruitful collaboration between architects and clients, this small hotel has already became one of the tourists’ favorite places in the town.
