Restaurant à Saint Rémy de Provence – La Maison Mistral

One of the most popular restaurants now operates this building in the heart of Saint-Remy-de-Provence. Bistrot Les Pieds dans l’Eau, with its stunning interior and friendly environment, attracts visitors from all over the world.

Now it’s full of live and laughter. When we’ve started our work, this two-storey building was empty and abandoned for many years already. We wanted to retell the history of the building by keeping most of its best parts, but, at the same time, make it comfortable both for its staff and visitors.

We’ve kept and restored original terracotta tiles on the floors and some of the decorative moldings on the walls and ceiling. Just entering the building, the visitors may even think the time here stopped in the 19th century. But sometime later, its contemporary soul begins to manifest. As an annex to the main building, we’ve created light and modern construction made of steel and glass with an open kitchen inside. The kitchen itself has been divided into two zones. Together with three bars, located in different parts of the Bistro, the general planning allows a number of guests to find their own cozy spot inside the large restaurant. As for the restaurant’s staff, they are able comfortably serve plenty of visitor, using both a number of different entrance to the the building as well as three different staircase to the first floor.
